Stevenson is a place where education is highly valued, but no more so than establishing the foundations upon which each of our students can incorporate the materials for living a happy and healthy life. We are committed to academic excellence, expanding intellectual horizons, and opening numerous doors of opportunity. However, this is not accomplished without cost. Academic excellence is expensive; expanding intellectual horizons requires forgoing larger class sizes in favor of smaller ones so that each student truly receives the focus they are worth; opening doors is done with the dedicated help of our talented and motivated faculty and staff. Your generous gifts help us continue to be at the forefront of education and each gift impacts the life of a student.
Your gift to the Stevenson Fund benefits every facet of the school: the excellence and breadth of our academics, faculty salaries and professional development, financial aid, the visual and performing arts, athletics, technology, community outreach programs, and outstanding extracurricular activities.
The Stevenson Fund supports the operating budget of the school with annual, unrestricted gifts. While 85% of the annual budget comes from tuition, the balance is reached through annual gifts and interest from the endowment. Annual giving is a vital component of Stevenson’s $16 million operating budget, raising $1,095,349 (5% of the budget) in 2006-2007. The goals for 2007-2008 are $1 million and 20% participation from alumni and 60% participation from parents.
