Gaskin and Olin Named to All-County Basketball Teams

Congratulations to Ambreece Gaskin ’18 for being named co-MVP for the All-County Girls Basketball team and Parker Olin ’17 for being picked for the All-County Boys Basketball team. Fauve Koontz ’17 also received an honorable mention.

The Monterey Herald shared these comments about Ambreece and Parker’s performance this season.

Ambreece Gaskins, Stevenson: The Mission Trail Athletic League’s Player of the Year and one of the The Herald’s co-Players of the Year, Gaskins was unstoppable in league play. A repeater on the all-county team, the sharpshooter averaged 24 points a game for the Pirates and a team-high 4.3 assists. A demon on defense, the junior guard also led the league in steals at 5.4 a game, compiling a pair of triple doubles.

Parker Olin, Stevenson: Despite missing part of the season with an elbow injury, Olin showed his shooting talents on the court, averaging more than 20 points a game when he returned. The Pirates were a different team when the 6-foot-2 sharpshooter was on the court, as evident by them going 8-1 upon his return. On the season, Olin averaged 17.1 points, 2.8 assists and 2.1 steals.
