  • Boys and Girls Basketball Teams Advance to CCS Playoffs!

    Congratulations to both the boys and girls varsity basketball teams for advancing to the CCS Divison V playoffs for the 2015-16 season! The boys are the #6 seed and the girls are the #4 seed.   • Jensen Main '16 and Dominique Seva'aetasi '16 Sign Letter of Intent

    Sailing Video From a Remote-Controlled Drone

    The sailing team competed in the Richmond Regatta on Saturday. It was a very slow day for sailing–they probably should have renamed the event sitting instead of racing. However, the event was captured on video by a remote-controlled drone.     Ed Eyth, who teaches in our visual arts department, was featured in a Newsweek Magazine article this week. The story focuses on Ed's never-before seen concept drawings for the movie "Back to the Future II" as part of the film's 25th anniversary.

    Stevenson Student On Stage at the Monterey Jazz Festival

    Last weekend, Stevenson student David Maluki had the distinct honor of performing at the 57th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival. David was selected among hundreds who auditioned last spring to participate in the Monterey County Vocal Jazz Honor Choir. Throughout the spring and summer, David rehearsed with top singers from other Monterey County schools to prepare for their summer tour, and for the Monterey Jazz Festival. Congratulations to David for his dedication to this challenging musical endeavor, and for being an outstanding representative of Stevenson School!     New 3D Printer Used to Complete Chess Set

    Anyone who's seen or used the chess set in Douglas Hall on the Pebble Beach Campus knows that two of the chess pieces (the black knight and black king) have been missing for some time. Follow the link to learn how the Visual Arts Department used their recently acquired Digital Media 3D printer to generate nearly exact replicas of the missing chess pieces.

  • Self Portrait - Teeger Blasheck

    Art Students Create Self-Portraits

    During the fall term, teacher Christy McDaris's Art 2 students were challenged to print out a gray scale value self-portrait. Then each student rendered a “paint by number” template based off each tonal value to create the illusion of volume. Students had to transfer their paint by number onto a canvas and choose a background to accent their self-portrait. In the final step, they applied a color scheme to create a dynamic composition. The results are both fun and vibrant. Artists featured include: Teeger Blasheck, Molly Herro, Andy Ki, Amelia Prenfors, and Kevin Shi.
