  • Joey Luba and Alethia Halamandaris Win MTAL Diving Titles

    Stevenson divers Joey Luba (left) and Alethia Halamandaris (right)
    captured first place respectively in the boys and girls divisions of the Mission Trail Athletic League (MTAL) Diving Championships this week. Joey's score of 438.20 puts him into consideration for All-American honors. Congratulations to both talented divers.

  • Margerum and Codd Win Stevenson Trophy

    Senior Remy Margerum and sophomore Lexie Codd beat ten rival pairs in winning the Stevenson Trophy on Monterey Bay on Sunday, April 14.   • JV Golf Team Wins De La Salle Tournament

    The boys JV golf team played in the second annual De La Salle JV Golf Tournament in Antioch recently. The team easily defeated ten other schools to win the tournament by 20 strokes over the second place team from Dublin. Top scores were recorded by Tivon Sadowsky (76) and Alex Newman (76), who finished in a tie for second overall, and Drew Sharek (77), who finished fourth. Stevenson golfers counted for four of the five sub-80 rounds. It looks like the tradition of highly competitive golf teams at Stevenson will continue with these talented young players. Congratulations.

  • Track Team Races Forward

    The Stevenson boys and girls track teams competed in a meet at Pacific Grove recently. In this photo, Alex Farmer dug deep for a spectacular come from behind finish in the 4x400-meter relay event. The boys 4x100 relay team also placed first. Alex also won the 400-meter dash while Marcus Banks roared to first place in the 100-meter and the 200-meter dashes. In the field events, Daniel Matsumoto placed first in the shot put, and Ben Rembetski earned a first in the discus throw. Leading the girls team were Alice Bruemmer with second place in the long jump and triple jump, Karsen Melgard with a second in the high jump, and Taylor Coady with a second in the shot put.

  • Basketball and Soccer Teams Honored at Assembly

    Our basketball and soccer teams were honored at a recent assembly by Athletic Director, Jeff Young. Several players and coaches received awards for their outstanding play as well as their exemplary sportsmanship. Congratulations to our award winners and their teammates for setting a high standard for sportsmanship and dedication on the field and on the court.   • Bryan Louie in New York City Music Competition

    Bryan Louie recently travelled to New York City just before finals and participated in the 2013 Mingus High School Competition and Festival. The San Francisco Jazz High School All Stars Orchestra and Combo left on Friday morning February 15, and upon their return Monday evening, their esteemed director, Mr. Paul Contos, announced that both the orchestra and combo had won the competition in a sweep. It was an extraordinary experience for all involved. Congratulations, Bryan!

  • Powder Puff Football

    The annual Powder Puff Football Game was a big hit this year. After a closely contested battle between the Junior and Senior girls, the game was tied late in the second half. The seniors pulled off a classic trick play, "The Wrong Ball," and scored to win the contest 12-6. The entire event was organized by the Activities Committee of Student Government led by students Julianne Garber and Kelly Smith. Phil Tucker and his crew provided a great BBQ to make the game a memorable event for both players and fans.

  • Ali Welschmeyer and Anna Wilcoxon Play in All-Star Soccer Classic

    Ali Welschmeyer (left) and Anna Wilcoxon (right) represented Stevenson School in the 10th Annual Salinas Californian All-Star Soccer Classic on Sunday, March 10. Seniors were selected from over 20 high schools and practiced for a week with either team Wind or team Stingrays before playing in the final game. Anna and Ali both played for team Wind. The game went into overtime and Wind beat the Stingrays in penalty kicks to win the game in an exciting finish! Congratulations to Ali and Anna for the honor of being selected to play in this All-Star game.
