Summer Camp

Stevenson Summer Camp is a five-week day and boarding program for boys and girls ages 9 - 15. The program is located on our beautiful Pebble Beach campus on the Monterey Peninsula of California.

The camp program is a balance of academic enrichment in the morning workshops and sports and fun in the afternoons through our sports program. The resident campers have additional opportunities included in the evening and weekend activities. This formula has made Stevenson Summer Camp a success since the 1970s.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the schedule for registration day?

Registration day is on Sunday of the first week of camp. Registration for both day and resident campers is from 2 to 4 pm. At 4 pm, an assembly is held for all campers and their families where the directors and counselors are introduced. Afterwards, everyone is invited to a barbecue. As families and day campers depart, the residents get settled in for the first night of activities. Day campers can register the following morning from 8:15 to 9:00 as well.

Can my child attend only part of the summer camp session?

Stevenson camp is a 5-week long summer session and the workshops and sports programs are planned and designed for the duration of those five weeks. We occasionally offer 1-week mini-camp sessions for day campers who cannot attend the full 5-week program.

Can a day camper attend the weekend hiking trips?

No, the weekend program is for resident campers only.

Is there transportation available for my day camper?

Yes, the Stevenson transportation department provides a bus transportation service for local campers for an additional fee. Please download and complete the Bus Transportation Request Form available under Summer Camp Forms on the right.

Is there transportation available to and from the airport for my resident camper?

Yes, Stevenson camp can provide airport pick-up and drop-off at Monterey Airport only.

May I visit my resident camper during the session?

Yes, of course you may visit your child at any time. If you are planning a visit to the area, call our office at 831.625.8349 so we can let you know of the best times for you to stop by. We recommend visiting in the evenings between 5 pm and 9 pm, though your camper may be reluctant to miss the evening activities.

Can my resident camper bring and use a cell phone during camp?

Yes, we do allow cell phones at camp, though the camper may only use the phone during designated free times.

What is the weather like at Stevenson?

During the summer in Pebble Beach the climate can vary greatly from dense fog to hot summer sun. Usually during the mornings, it is foggy but by the afternoon it becomes mild and sunny. Normal temperatures range between 55 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

Concerning the health form, does my child need to be seen by a doctor before attending camp?

Yes, it is required that each camper see a physician to fill out the Physician Examination Form (page 4 of the enrollment packet.)

Is there a deadline for enrollment?

Our enrollment deadline is May 14. If you wish to enroll after the deadline, please us or call us at 831.625.8349 to see if there is still availability. There is limited space for resident campers, so we recommend that you register early to ensure a space. There is no limit for day campers, though registering before the deadline is recommended to all to ensure that campers get their choice of clinics and workshops.
