Kayaking Program
For the seventh year Stevenson is offering a sea kayaking program. Throughout the year there will be multiple levels offered: basic kayaking, kayak snorkeling, kayak rescue, kayak surfing, and kayak touring.
Within each of these activities there will be programs for beginners and programs geared toward students with more advanced skills in the sport.
The Monterey Bay is a prime location for the sport of kayaking. Whether it is a casual paddle or a skills training course, our students will find themselves in places all over the Central Coast. We will be paddling in Stillwater Cove, Elkhorn Slough, Monterey Bay, and even our own pool. Last year we even took a group kayaking on Mono Lake on the east side of the Sierra. Do not miss an opportunity to participate in kayaking at Stevenson.
More information about the sea kayaking program will be available through the Outdoor Education office at the beginning of the fall term.
