Enrolled Student Checklists 2019

Upper Division

Grades 9–12

March and April

  1. New and returning students explore the course catalog.
  2. New students and Stevenson Grade 8 students request courses for the coming year. An email from the registrar will provide guidance. New students and Stevenson Grade 8 students and their parents are also invited to participate in the Spring Orientation at the Pebble Beach Campus the morning of May 4, and the Spring Carnival in the afternoon. A schedule for the day is available here.
  3. Students request sports for the fall term. An email will provide guidance.
  4. New students make a plan for completing placement exercises. 

May

  1. All students must have appropriate medical insurance. for the school year. Our medical insurance requirements for 2019-2020 will be available here.
  2. All students and parents review the summer reading requirements for English and History. The current lists reflect the reading for the summer of 2019.
  3. All students review a list of their courses for the coming year with their parents. This information will come from the registrar late in the month.
  4. All students make travel arrangements for the fall. The Calendar button at right will contain good resources for planning travel, especially the  Pre-Season Training page for those participating in a team sport in the fall and the Vacation Travel Planning page. 
  • New resident students who are not already on campus for pre-season must arrive on Sunday morning, August 25.
  • New day students who are not already on campus for pre-season must arrive on Sunday afternoon, August 25.
  • Returning resident students who are not already on campus for leadership training or pre-season must arrive on Tuesday, August 27, before 5:00 p.m.
  • Returning day students who are not already in the area for leadership training or pre-season should arrive in time for the start of school on Wednesday, August 28 at 8:30 a.m.

June

  1. All students: Parent completes the required Post Enrollment forms on the Parent Pirate Page, due July 1. 
  2. All students: Parent completes the required Magnus Health Forms. You will receive an email from the Health Center by early June letting you know that your child's forms are ready for you. These health forms must be completed by August 1. Students will not be allowed to begin classes until all health forms are complete.
  3. International students: students' I-20 forms will be processed after enrollment forms have been submitted; you can expect to receive your I-20 in early June.
  4. New students: Parent completes the Transfer of Student Records form, and give it to your school as soon as the school year is complete. This form gives that school permission to send your records to the Stevenson School Registrar.
  5. New students who were enrolled elsewhere in 9th grade or higher during 2018-2019: After the end of the 2018-2019 school year, the parent prints and completes the appropriate Transfer Student Athlete Eligibility Form, located on the Student Pirate Page.
  6. All students and parents review the calendars that will be available in the Calendar button at right. 
  7. New resident students and parents will review the Essentials for New Resident Students and complete the Advisor Questionnaire and the Roommate Questionnaire, located on the Student Pirate Page.
  8. New day students and parents will review the Essentials for New Day Students and complete the Advisor Questionnaire, located on the Student Pirate Page.

July

  1. All students: Post-Enrollment Forms, located on the Parent Pirate Page, are due July 1.
  2. All students: Parent must submit the tuition payment by July 15. Information can be found on the Methods of Payment page. Questions may be directed to the Business Office at 831-625-8209 or business@stevensonschool.org
  3. Resident students will purchase dormitory furnishings and supplies for your dormitory.

August

  1. All students: Magnus Health Forms are due August 1.
  2. All students order books on our online bookstore. You will receive an email from the Registrar in late July or early August with information and directions.
  3. All students: Parent submits a debit card initial deposit to the Business Office by August 15. This allows your student to use their student ID for on-campus purchases. Questions may be directed to the Business Office at business@stevensonschool.org or 831-625-8209.
  4. All students: make sure the student has a laptop for use at school.
  5. All students and parents receive information about the opening of school in an email sent in mid-August. A detailed Opening of School Schedule for Grades 9-12 for 2019 and other valuable calendars will be available in the Calendar button to the right.
  6. All students and parents receive information about accessing student schedules in an email sent a few days before the first day of school.
  7. New students and Grade 9 students: meetings with advisors and the Parent Reception are on Sunday, August 25.
  8. New students and Grade 9 students: orientation is on Monday, August 26 and Tuesday, August 27.
  9. New students and returning students with new laptops: attend Laptop Bootcamp. The dates will be posted here when available.
  10. Classes begin on Wednesday, August 28.

 

Lower/Middle Division

PK–Grade 8

May

  1. All students must have appropriate medical insurance for the school year. Please review our medical insurance requirements.

June

  1. All students: Parent completes the required Post Enrollment forms on the Parent Pirate Page, due July 1.
  2. All students: Parent completes the required Magnus Health Forms. You will receive an email from the Health Center by early June letting you know that your child's forms are ready for you. These health forms must be completed by August 1. Students will not be allowed to move into their rooms or begin classes until all health forms are complete.

July

  1. All Kindergarten–Grade 8 students: Parent completes the fall After-School Program registration. You will receive an email from the school containing a link to the registration page and directions.
  2. All students in Grades 5–8: make sure the student has a laptop for use at school. Please click here for information about purchasing a laptop.
  3. All students and parents attend orientation on Tuesday, August 27.
  4. Classes begin on Wednesday, August 28.

 

Materials & Supplies

The cost of all required materials and supplies is included in tuition. During the first week of school, middle division students will receive materials that include:

  • Textbooks*
  • Binders
  • Binder paper
  • Calculators*
  • Composition books
  • Dance uniforms (leotards, tights, jazz pants, and appropriate shoes)*

*These materials will be distributed to students in September. Grade 8 students are required to use graphing calculators. Student accounts will be billed for this item, only. If textbooks, calculators, or any elements of the dance uniform are lost, families are responsible for replacement.

Students are expected to have personalized items such as:

  • A Globe-Weis® Fabric Poly expanding letter file available at Amazon.
  • Highlighters, pencils, pens, and sharpies
  • Pencil cases
  • Backpack
  • Metal mess kit for use on Age of Sail and Science Camp (a sleeping bag and a metal mess kit that includes: an 8-12 inch plate or bowl, cup for hot/cold drinks, and silverware).

Uniform Specifications

Stevenson School's uniform policy for the lower and middle divisions is designed to help alleviate the stressors that arise during adolescence surrounding the increasing complexity in social dynamics.
