Stephan Pratt currently serves as assistant coach of the Girls Varsity Golf team at Stevenson, a position he has held for the past four years, after having served as head JV football coach. Steph has coached 43 individual teams at three schools over 30 years, in addition to holding various local community positions, such as travel teams manager, all stars coach and board of directors in Carmel Youth Baseball. Steph was head varsity baseball coach for 12 years at Hebron Academy (Maine) and Westminster School (CT), where he received the Houghton Coaching Award. During those 12 years he was also varsity boys ice hockey coach, including back-to-back champion teams (1994 & 95) in the New England Prep School League, widely considered the country’s top league. He was a member of the coaching staff for Hebron’s undefeated 1995 New England Prep football champions. Over the years, Steph’s teams produced numerous college division 1 & 3 student-athletes, including professional draft picks, an NCAA National DI Champion, and winners of the Super Bowl and Stanley Cup. As an athlete, Steph was a practice roster player on the 1985 Dijon Ducs professional hockey team in France. He enters his 16th year at Stevenson in 2020/21. A practicing artist, Steph has served the past seven years as Chair of Fine Arts. He and his wife Manon, also a Stevenson teacher, reside on campus. Their children, Henri, a baseball recruit at Bates College, and Sylvie, an actress studying at NYU Tisch, are both Stevenson graduates.
