Jon Burke joined the Stevenson girls water polo program as the new head coach in the fall of 2020 taking over from long time coach Jim Fannin. He brings with him an impressive pedigree as a championship coach. He has previous coaching experience with the Atherton Aquatics Foundation and was the head coach for both the boys’ and girls’ programs with the Stanford Water Polo Club. In addition, he was an assistant men’s and women’s water polo coach at UC Davis. At the high school level he won 10 consecutive CCS championships while head coach of the girls program at Sacred Heart Prep in Atherton, which is a CIF record for consecutive championships in girls water polo. He also won nine West Catholic Athletic League championships there. He was recognized as the California Girls High School Water Polo Coach of the Year (2017), the Northern California Girls High School Water Polo Coach of the Year (2017), and as a CCS Honor Coach (2015). He is the current executive director and head coach of Monterey Bay United Water Polo, and is the goalkeeper coach with the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program. Along the way, he has developed 16 Speedo All Americans. Jon played two years of water polo at UC Davis and was team captain.
