Toby Elmore joined the Stevenson School faculty in the fall of 2016 as a full time teacher in history in the Upper School. Bringing with him over 15 years of head soccer coaching experience he was quickly tabbed as the boy’ s varsity soccer coach that same year. Toby had head coaching stints at the prestigious Hotchkiss School, Thacher School, and the Dunn School in both soccer and lacrosse and coached varsity squash one year at Hotchkiss. His 2019-20 boys soccer team competed for a Santa Lucia Division title up until the last week of the season losing out to eventual champion Seaside. An accomplished athlete in high school Toby played soccer where he earned recognition as a two time all county player and was team captain. In lacrosse he earned all state honors leading to his being named Honorable Mention All-Midwest. At Connecticut College Toby played three years of varsity soccer and two years of varsity squash where he was captain and most valuable player. Toby holds a Premier Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches/National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He earned his BA from Connecticut College in 1998 and his MA from Reed College in 2013.
