Established in 2018, the Stevenson School Philanthropy Club is a student organization that is responsible for the Philanthropy Project, a student-driven project that encourages friendly and informative interactions between Stevenson students and the Monterey County nonprofit community. In 2019, the Philanthropy Project was tasked by an individual donor to distribute up to $50,000 each year to local nonprofits. The student group develops a new mission statement each year based on their assessment of community needs.
During the 2020-21 School year our focus is:
- Family health and safety programs with a focus on children, adults, and animals
- Educational opportunities and enhancements of virtual learning
- Job security and employment opportunities
If you are interested in applying for a portion of the funds, we encourage you to review the Request for Proposal to determine if your organization’s programming aligns with our mission. We invite you to submit a proposal to us by March 5 at noon*. All proposals that support our mission will be considered.
If you are chosen as a finalist we will contact you to arrange a site visit if circumstances allow or a zoom interview by our team between March 29 and April 6*. All organizations will be notified of our final decision by May 3*.

Organizations must be a 501(c)3 organization located in Monterey County. Applicants must display a high level of responsibility and sound governance.
