Tier Two (Don't Delete)

Students and teachers work together to solidify a sense of competence, confidence, and purpose in the study of mathematics. Mental math strategy practice and application of the Singapore Math “model drawing” technique build on the foundation laid in the lower division. Students develop an increased ability to think abstractly about mathematical concepts and become accurate and creative problem solvers. Prioritizing the interconnection of math with other subjects, topics in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry are integrated into a problem-centered approach in which students continually encounter mathematics in a meaningful context, enabling them to draw, and then verify, their own conclusions.
