Rob Klevan Honored with California Alliance for Jazz Hall of Fame Award

The California Alliance for Jazz (CAJ) recently voted to honor Rob Klevan, instrumental music director, with its Hall of Fame Award, recognizing his accomplishments and service to jazz and jazz education. The award will be presented to Dr. Klevan during the upcoming California All-State Music Education Conference in February 2021.

“I've received a number of jazz education awards (Monterey Jazz Festival Music Teacher of the Year-2003; CMEA Jazz Educator Award-2007, DownBeat Achievement Award for Jazz Education-2009; MJF Jazz Champion Award-2015; and the Berklee College of Music/Jazz Education Network John LaPorta National Jazz Educator of the Year Award-2017), but this honor means a great deal to me as it comes from my California jazz colleagues. Many of my jazz heroes have been inducted in previous years, so I am thrilled to join such a prestigious list,” said Dr. Klevan. Congratulations!
