Pirates Paddle the American River on Overnight Trip

On the weekend of October 25, Stevenson students and outdoor education leaders traveled to the South Fork of the American River for an overnight whitewater rafting trip. Certified guides led the group down the lower stretch of the South Fork through the historical Coloma and Lotus Valleys that were home for the Nisenan indigenous peoples and where the California Gold Rush began in 1849. Stevenson faculty member and photographer Joel Fricker accompanied the group and compiled this video from the trip. Enjoy!
