On Tuesday, October 15 the Pirate volleyball team hosted their second annual Dig Pink match. October is known as Breast Cancer Awareness month and our Dig Pink match is designed to raise awareness about Breast Cancer, educate and empower young athletes, teach the value and importance of giving back to the community, and the power of getting involved.
Breast Cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in women, with 1 in 8 receiving the diagnosis at some point in their life. Our Pirates worked to raise awareness and donate $275 to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer through The American Cancer Society. Thank you to all who came out and showed your support, and if you were not able to make it, you can still make an impact. Click here to donate to the cause!
