Stevenson Pirates regularly do outstanding work—in the classroom, on the athletics fields, onstage, in the art studio (and beyond). Here are some RLS students who have recently been recognized for noteworthy achievements:
Fine Art Awards
Several creative Stevenson students recently received awards for their excellent work in the fine arts. Click here to view their works.
In the annual “Thinking Out Loud” Monterey high school art competition, Anthony Miguel ’21 won first place among 200 entries. Sean Seggerty ’23 received an honorable mention.
Anthony Miguel ’21 garnered 5 Art & Scholastics Award regional medals for his work in digital art and photography. Sun Woo Kim ’21 received 8 regional medals for his paintings, drawings, sculptures and mixed media pieces. Both received multiple Gold Key Awards; their work now moves to consideration at the national level.
In March, a drawing by Cindy Chen ’22 was displayed in US congressman Jimmy Panetta's Capitol office in Washington, DC.
Jerry Jia ’21 earned honorable mention among 50 total entries (and sold his painting) at Carmel Art Association's annual Monterey County high school art competition, "For The Love of Art." Ari Kozloski ’21, Blake Siemens ’21, and Calliope Kerr ’21 also earned entry into this prestigious show.
One RLS student was recently recognized for outstanding creative writing in a foreign language:
Michelle Teh ’21 won second place in the Alliance Française of the Monterey Peninsula Poetry Contest (High School Advanced Category) for her poem, "Ça va."
Pirate athletes shine on and off the field, and several senior and junior Pirates will be playing their sport in the next year or two at the collegiate level:

- Alex Iniakov ’21: Golf at Oglethorpe University
- Tyler Olson ’21: Football at Chapman
- Josh Peyton ’21: Baseball at University of Chicago
- Patrick Powers ’21: Water Polo at LMU
- Tomi Main ’22: Tennis at Texas Tech
