Grade 8 photography students completed their portfolios recently and the results demonstrate their learning and talent.
Students learned camera controls and settings from the ground up and experimented with aperture, speed, and macro/micro modes while engaging with "rules" for strong compositions such as the rule of thirds, golden spiral, how to deal with clutter, shooting portraits with personality, and success in black and white. Students also practiced digital editing techniques with Photos for Mac.
In addition, Grade 8 photographers created cyanotypes, using the sun and water to develop their work in one of the oldest photographic processes. You will find these mysterious and beautiful blue images in the portfolio.
